As low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) set their sights on the global elimination of hepatitis C virus (HCV) by 2030, adoption of WHO recommendations for diagnosis and improved access to testing will be critical. We believe that better market intelligence will lower supply- and demand-side barriers and help to eliminate HCV for good. This is why FIND and CHAI have collaborated, with support from Unitaid, to release a market intelligence analysis of HCV diagnostic products covering 29 countries, which account for approximately 80 percent of the chronic-HCV population in all LMICs. The report provides 5-year forecasts on need and demand for screening, confirmatory and monitoring tests and outlines the elements driving the projections and what factors will allow countries to diagnose more patients.
