CHAI is helping the Malian government to implement ambitious reforms to its primary healthcare system, which were first announced in 2019. Heath services will be made free at points-of-care for priority groups, including children under the age of 5, pregnant women, and those seeking family planning services. In Mali, primary care is mainly delivered at the community level through community health centers (CSCom). We are working with the Mali Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene to strengthen access to quality healthcare at these centers. This includes renovating the centers, rehabilitating their infrastructure, and procuring new equipment for them. In addition, we are helping to develop a national accreditation system to strengthen the centers’ management, governance, and service quality.
