CHAI has worked in India since 2004 in close partnership with and under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) at the national, state, and sub-state levels on high-priority initiatives to improve health outcomes for the people of India.
Working closely with our India affiliate, the William J Clinton Foundation (WJCF), we combine unique data-driven approaches and management principles with multi-layered public health expertise to identify and address barriers to access and implement innovative solutions at scale. We support more than 20 programs across 16 states, including Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
Our program include COVID-19; hepatitis; HIV/AIDS; syphilis; tuberculosis; vector borne diseases; antimicrobial resistance; cancer; childhood diarrhea and pneumonia; improving oxygen access; maternal, child, and reproductive health; anemia; immunization; nutrition and safe drinking water; health financing, and disease surveillance.
In all our programs, we work closely with government agencies in improving health system outcomes through program design, decision-making and data systems, review and management systems, supply chains, human resources for health, pharmaceuticals and devices, financing, service delivery, private sector partnerships and stewardship, and communication and demand.
We also collaborate with UN organizations and development partners, universities and academia, and research and policy think tanks. International and national donors and corporate social responsibility entities who share our mission enable our work, co-create interventions, and deliver joint impact.
